Obama
I don’t usually care all that much about politics and because of that I don’t like to voice a political opinion too often, but I do have some thoughts on this subject. As a 53 year old white women I am amazed by the choice democrats have been offered in the race for the presidential bid. Obama and Clinton a black man or a women, being raised in the times I was it is very exciting to see. Obama is a star, he appears to be a fine man and a genuine person that cares deeply for our country, however, knowing what we know about his choice of religious leader, a man that married him and baptised his children I’m concerned. I heard the speech his pastor made, in all the years that Obama attended his church he never heard those thoughts before, come on Obama did you sleep through services? There is no way that man covered his true feelings for all those years, no way. I have no tolerance for bigots or rascist of any color, they’re ignorant fools anyone who believes we are different or better because we happen to have been born one color or another is being rediculas, but how well could this guy have covered up? Is it really a situation where he was misunderstood? I think it was pretty clear, that was not the case. I hope that Obama realizes that, that one decision may cost him a presidency. People like me that who don’t care about what race or sex a candidate is beyond it being nice to see that choice after all these years, still care weather or not that person truely sees the world with out color bias, be they white black brown red or yellow male or female. Alot has changed in my lifetime between races, but some people want to drag up that bitterness at every oportunity. It is a great thing that in 2008 a black man can make a very strong run for the presidency and may be our leader soon, I was born in 1954 trust me we have come a long way in being Americans all together and not black ones and white ones etc. I hope Obama can get past this and show the world that he is the man for the job and capable of leading all of us in the right direction if he wins the nomination and election. That being said I am a democrat and at this time I hope Hilary gets the democratic nod. I have gone back and forth but to me she is the better qualified person, of corse Obama has his pastor and she has Bill. I questioned for a long time her motives for staying in her marraige in light of her now political carreer, but I saw her on TV and the way she explained it set me at ease about it. I hope she can keep him quiet till the elction I don’t know if he is hurting her chances or just not helping but it ain’t good what ever it is. It would be a shame if these two fine people lost thier campaines due to what was coming out of someone else’s mouth. That’s the number of teen girls between the ages of 14 and 17 that have children or are pregnant out of the 464 children in Texas state custody after the raid at the YFZ Ranch!! That is wide spread sect sanctioned child abuse. PERIOD. How dare those mothers go on camera and say they don’t know anything about that kind of thing happening?!! I cried when I saw those poor mothers crying for thier taken children and I doubted that the state of Texas was doing the right thing but 31 out of 53, come on. Those mothers knew and fathers. Every man found to be the husband to underage girl or a father to her child should be locked up along with her parents. You are just as guilty of the rape of a child as the person doing it if you look the other way while it is happening! I am a great beiever in religious freedom but what does having sex and impregnating underage girls have to do with religion, not a damn thing that’s what! It is against man’s laws and God’s and my God dosn’t want children raped in his name any more than he wants wars fought in his name. The women of that sect have apparently been maids, sex slaves and baby machines for the men of the sect for a very long time. Young girls are put on this earth for one reason to become women and make thier own decisions about men, marraige and having children. I think for all you people out there that thought the state of Texas made up the phone calls from the first girl as an excuse to raid a religious compound have been proven wrong, oviously these people who practice this religion also practice ritual child sexual abuse. 31 out of 53 is probaby a decieving nimber because it is probably a sure bet that atleast some of the others are wives already but have not concieved. I worry about those children and those teen girls who have been brought up to believe what they were taught. Can the state seperate a very young mother and her child if the very young mother is a victim herself? What about the adults still at the ranch practicing thier religion and making more children will the state step in and take custody of every newborn on that compound? Untill when? 464 kids some of whom don’t even know who thier mother is and more expected as those pregnant girls give birth. It is all so sad. I changed my mind today about this sect after that figure was announced, I think they may be a godly people but they have misinterperted Gods word, most likely because some old men wanted to justify sex with young girls. What better way to assure that a young girl will stay put than making her pregnant? Thier own leader is in jail now for his complicity in a crime against a child. Please don’t throw up that girls can marry with consent at 16 in Texas these girls were not legally married, and probably not even the first wife or second for the men that they married so that argument is out the window. And saying it is God’s will is as rediculas as saying that about preists who molest parish children. It is not God’s will!! I will pray for all those innocent children and for those incharge of thier wellbeing, but I refuse to pray for people who abuse children as standard practice and then lie about it in the press to gain sympathy from people like me. Except ofcorse for those of that sect that are truely sorry for thier sins and ask God for forgivness. Children have parents to raise them and protect them while they mature if you hand your child over to someone at 14 that you know will at the very least sexually abuse them then you don’t deserve to have your children or to call yourself a parent. HUMAN EXTINCTION?
I just read an article a couple of days ago about a Stanford research project that pretty much amazed me. According to thier researchers the human race almost became extinct in the early stone age due to severe drought in Africa which is where we origionate. At one time apparently the whole population went down to near 2,000 people and has come back up to where we are today. That is incredible, we truely are a hardy and prolific people. We have such a will to survive and thrive that we came back from being that close to extinction to over population of the world ( 6.6 Billion people and counting ) I’m not sure if it was this study or another that concluded that a study of mitochondrial DNA proves that we are all derived from a single “Eve” which is every bit as amazing. When I was in college they were just unlocking the DNA window and now look at what those techniques can acomplish, even in the last few years it has become common place to hear the phrase ” DNA evidence ” used in crime cases and paternity cases. And it is already helping to understand the past and it’s relationship to the present and future. The fact that they can trace our DNA back to single “ Eve ” does mean the human race is a family no matter what your race or where you come from. It is mind boggling, every one of us can in theory trace our origions to Africa and one single women ( although I myself can’t seem to get beyond 5 generations back ) Now though when I hear all those silly facts about Obama being related to Bush and so on and so on I guess I will have to believe them. Horrific case of child abuse
In this case a man imprisoned, raped and impregnated his daughter. Here is what makes it even more horrible. The man is in his 70’s the women is in her 40’s and he impregnated her 6 times resulting in 7 kids one of who died and was cremated in the family oven! I could not believe what I read. According to the story he started molesting her at age 11, inprisoned her when she was 18 and reported her as a runaway, and according to her raped her constantly. He had built another residence in the basement of his home and supposidly his wife never knew I mean come on she was a women how could she not know what was in her own basement? The story said 3 of thier children were forced to live with her and the others lived upstairs, untill one day one of the kids who was locked up became ill and had to go to the hospital, she was a teenager and told the authorities what was happening. The women and children hadn’t even seen the light of day ever. He made up some story that his daughter returned after all those years and came to the hospital with her father to see the daughter who was ill and the authorities stepped in. The story went on to say that the women was not right and reluctant to talk to anyone about her ordeal. It just makes me sick all the pain due to one persons wierd obcession with his daughter. The nighbors were of corse surprised by it all because they thought he was a doting grandfather that had taken in abandoned grandchildren, and really he was a monster. A monster that has left a family legacy that they will never in a thousand years be able to be erased. He destroyed a young girl’s life and atleast 3 others locked up with her and the sad thing is he is too old to pay for all his crimes because he won’t live long enough. I don’t understand how a person could think of a child especially thier own as a sexual partner what is wrong with the world?!! I think the only answer to this is much much tougher sentencing for preditors. From everything I’ve read child molesters can not be rehibilitated so why release them and let them reoffend? Chemical castration is an ugly thought but if a man rapes and molests women and children and that is the sentence they can expect there might be alot less likely to act on thier compulsions. And manditory term in sentencing should be applied if you rape or molest women and children why should I have to live next door to you ever? No one is doing enough to protect the women and innocent children of the world it is time for the ( mostly men ) lawmakers to step up, and I wonder if the roles were reversed and women were the hugh majority of offenders would they sit on thier thumbs like they do? I have had a couple of x’s in my life by the one I am currently x ing with takes the cake! He stalks me, sends me messeges asking where I am cause he drove by and I wasn’t home. Friday morning I get a messege from him online asking why I was gone all night and how he knew I don’t know since he lives on a farm 30 miles from here. Friday night I get a messege that he came by my house and I wasn’t there so we’re through : ) Apparently he didn’t understand that from a week or so ago when I packed his things up and told him to leave. I think he is unstable, and the stalking me part is really kind of scarey. I don’t think he would ever try to hurt me but he’s told me before he’s sat in a small parking lot caddy corner from the back of my house and watched me with binoculars and the back of my house is always open because I have a sunporch and windows and a door from the house that open to it. When I asked him how often he drives by my place when he says he is stalking me he say everynight you don’t talk to me. It’s crazy, we have been in a relationship where we were both obcessed with the other one and now that my feelings have changed I am a little worried. I never stalked him or anything but it wasn’t a healthy relationship on my part or his it was more of a chemistry thing. Anyway the next relationship I have I plan to try anyway to really look at the man and see him for what he really is and not what I really want him to be. Men are tricky they seem to beable to hide what they are till just the right time that being when they have you good and hooked. I will miss him terribly and the security of being in a relationship at my age isn’t all bad, but there comes a time when something has to give. I remember when I was very young and had this one job in a butcher shop that I hated, and to top it off one of the “old” ( to me at the time butchers) would always follow me into the coolers or basement and put his hands on me. I was afraid to tell my boss cause I needed the job and even though I was 17 and I was a married women I was afraid to tell my husband cause I knew he would kill the guy so I just put up with it untill one day he pushed me up against a wall and started to take things beyond where they were. I told my boss who was a man ofcorse and he said ” Well your 17 and married, your fair game ” What a jerk but and here is the point of that all too common story he did give me one piece of usefull advice. “If you really hate the situation and don’t want the attention why are you still here? ” I called my husband and told him I was quiting and he said o….k? And I went back and gave notice. I went back to the counter and asked that perv to come and take break and I told him I was quiting because of him and telling my husband. A week later I got a job in a daycare and it changed my life. I went on to own a daycare plus one be the director and got an education and became a pre-school teacher. So if I don’t like my situation why am I still here? Exactly it is time to move on hopefully to a better something….Kathryn
PRINCESS WEEKEND
I hope everyone had a great weekend. I spent mine playing mom to my 3 youngest granddaughters, Kayla Lexi and Kelsey, and it was soo much fun. My daughter and hubby went to KC for business and the 2 older kids went to thier dad’s so it was just my little girls and I. They are such a treat, they are 10, 9 and 6 and sweeter than sugar. Thursday and Friday I took them to school, picked them up and stayed at my daughters in the big city. Then Saturday we had to come back to my small town for a sale at the store. They thought they were really something working at the store “helping”. Then sunday we started the garden and played at the park by the river, they loved being by the water and got so dirty I wasn’t sure all the mud and sand would come out of thier things!. The river here that runs through my small town is way up do to all the rain and has flooded out in the middle city park. The other park was still open but it was at the bank and if we don’t stop getting wet soon I hate to think since I live 6 blocks from it, but, they thought it was beautiful and want to come for 2 weeks when school is out and go fish. When the 10 and 9 yearolds were little I used to have them almost every other weekend and when they were 5 and 4 maybe to help them be good when they were with thier old gramma I would say ” you need to look and act like princess’ then everyone will know you are as special as I know you are” They never forgot it, and try very hard to live up to that when ever I have them. They always say when thier mom drops them off or I pick them up. ” K, we need to act like princess’ now” and it is always a princess weekend or princess holiday when I have them. They included the little one and she took it and ran. My daughter always says she repeats it to her if she is wearing something the little one dosn’t think she should( like the color black for some reason). They always bring thier best pink casual clothes to wear here because it’s my favorite color, and we always have a brunch complete with high tea. It is really true I think that you don’t really appreciate children untill you have grandchildren. I didn’t appreciate my kids enough I was too busy raising them I guess, and I told my daughter that once and she said she understood but she won’t till she’s a gramma wilth some adorable little kid looking up and calling her gramma. Grandkids are one of the few rewards for getting old and it’s absolutly the the best one. See you tomorrow…Kathryn
WILD ANIMALS
I just read a very sad story about a man who was killed by a bear, not a wild bear but a “pet” bear. the bear had a name and a job and was a Hollywood star. He was owned by Randy’s Preditors In Action and was trained by them to do tricks. “he was a gentle loving bear” according to his trainor he just happened to kill some one. “I don’t know what happened” Hey Randy this is what happened, THAT BEAR WAS A WILD ANIMAL not a kitty and people who think otherwise are crazy, and sometimes dead. I’ve never in my life wanted to see an wild animal in a movie so badley that someone should die to train it. Recently Lowes came out with a dumb commercial using a bear and I always think when I see that bear stand up next to man showing him a grill who would do a commercial like that without asking for a million dollars. The bear is over twice his height weighs hundreds of pounds more and has claws longer than his fingers he must be nuts! This guy is lucky that the bear killed his cousin and not some first grader watching an exibition of how gentle and playfull this bear is, your family may not sue you and destory everything you built up. I say lucky here also beacuse he may be the most skilled trianor in the whole world but he still has to rely on that wild animal’s mood and sense of the rules. I suspect that when they are stressed they forget the rules and rely on what god gave them basic instincts. If you slap a bear or wrestle them and that’s your job how do you know if that is a good day for them and they want to play fight. You don’t. The bear in this case as the trainor says was licking the man’s face and then bit him in the neck , not the arm or hand but he went straight for the neck a kill tactic for an animal. Now a man is dead and a women and two children have lost the world they knew and that bear that everyone says is so gentle and sweet will be destroyed why? I watched My Boy Jack the other night on PBS and Daniel Radcliff is really trying hard to change his HP image, but he just isn’t all that good, and why does he always think he should take his clothes off? He has a boyish pastey white body is he really all that desperate to prove he has outgrown the Harry Potter series?Now he is seeking press by trying to play Prince Charming in a cinderella story in his personal life by asking the press to find some Australian girl who watched him all night at a party, but for some reason he couldn’t get her name or number. He always claims that he can’t find a girl ( ya right ) but I have a tip for him. Keep your clothes on and open your wallet instead you’re worth how many millions now? What Happened to Jason?
Jason is 32 and just hit the ” big city ” paper and the news for being accused of felony crimes. Carrying 3 concealed weapons, not one but three and then he was arrested also for a warrent in another town in the middle of the state for the same crime. I knew Jason 15? years ago when he was 18 give or take, I worked with him at a place were I had a second job for a while. He worked there first and when I started I thought all thoses guys that worked in that department were kind of lazy, it was late hours and there wasn’t much for them to do and I thought Jason was obnoxious, a few weeks later I adored him. He was the cutest, sweetest boy and he would do anything I would ask him to do. He would say ok baby and when I would give him a look he would say ok mom and smile, he was a charmer. He had light red hair and blue blue eyes and he was skinny skinny. He and my daughter were almost the same age and she had just gotten married and when she and her husband would be out running the streets at night on the weekend they would stop in and talk to me. I always teased her and told her I have your 2nd husband already picked out. When people would come in to where we worked and see us they would always ask if we were related because of our haircolor and I would always say ” No but I would like to adopt him” he’ld smile. I left that job after a year to work just one job and never really saw him again or atleast not very often that I can remember. Yesterday I was sitting at my daughter’s dining room table and the TV was on and I heard his name, he has a very very unusual last name and his town ( a small town outside the big city ) was still the same. I could’nt hear it very well so my daughter backed up the DVR thingy and sure enough it was Jason. He was stopped on a Harley Davidson with 3 concealed weapons in his jacket, a knife, a billy club and a loaded gun. They had his picture and even though I could see it was him I was pretty amazed he was this hugh guy with a thick neck long hair and a gotee and in the picture I saw, a tatoo that ran down from under his chin into his shirt collar. I said oh my gosh he was such a sweet boy and my daughter said ” I dont think he’s either one of those things anymore mom ” But I have to wonder, he wasn’t 12 when I knew him he was 18 or so would his general nature change that much or didn’t I really see him like he was? I thought he was an adorable charming boy and now he’s a big bad gun carrying biker guy? I told my daughter I was going to write him at the jail and she said it would be a mistake because he wasn’t that Jason anymore, so I won’t or if I do it will be a note with out a return address just to let him know that someone outside the usual people that care about him is thinking of him and hopeing and praying he’ll be ok in this mess. I know he is oviously a dangerous person now to carry all those weapons but I will always see him as that cute kid and wonder what happened to Jason. see you tomorrow…Kathryn
