My mother always used to say this little rhyme to tease me when I had been naughty because I have curly hair. I always thought it came from this kids poem book we had. Today online I looked it up and found out this is a Longfellow poem composed apparently by him to sing to his second daughter whom he had to, as his son put it “get up and down with” at night.
